Van der Poel won the Milan-San Remo

Mathieu Van der Poel won the 114th edition of the Milano-Sanremo, the first Monument classic of the 2023 season. Once the morning breakaway resumed at the foot of the Cipressa, the race comes alive on the Poggio: Pogacar remain, an amazing Filippo Ganna, Wout Van Aert and Van der Poel.

The Dutchman attacks at the top of the climb and manages to keep a few seconds advantage until the finish line in Via Roma. Behind him Ganna , second ahead of Van Aert and Pogacar . Seconds group set by Kragh Andersen.
