Great victory for Del Toro at the Montreal GP

Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates) wins the Montreal GP , the second Canadian classic of 214.4 km.

After the initial breakaway of 9 men, the race explodes with the attack of Ayuso and Leonard : the group accelerates to chase and crumbles lap after lap.

With 40km to go, other men tried to counterattack and a trio made up of Yates , Healy and Van Gils took advantage, gaining around thirty seconds on the main group.

With three laps to go, the big names are moving, with seven riders launching a chase after Healy. All the favorites except Evenepoel are involved, while the Belgian attempts an individual chase to rejoin.

Evenepoel rejoins right at the start of the final lap in the company of Baudin, with the nine-man group trailing Healy by 20", who was alone in the lead. On the final Cote Camillien-Houde , Seixas starts very strongly, leaving everyone behind, including Healy in the lead. Del Toro then follows behind the Frenchman.

The two worked together, creating a gap on the other pursuers and thus going into a battle for the victory. In the two-man sprint , Del Toro clearly won ahead of Seixas . McNulty finished third, ahead of Simmons.
