Lidl-Trek has officially signed Felix Gall for the next three seasons. The Austrian rider, coming off an excellent 2026 season, was the team's primary objective to strengthen its Grand Tour team. He will be joined on this new adventure by his compatriot Gregor Mühlberger , who will serve as his trusted domestique for the mountain stages.
A podium-worthy season : The move comes after Gall's impressive results this year. The 28-year-old Austrian was one of the most consistent riders in the 2026 stage races, managing to reach the podium in two major races: 2nd at the Giro d'Italia, behind Jonas Vingegaard, and 3rd at the Vuelta a España, behind Primož Roglič and Enric Mas. Finally, 1st at the Vuelta a Burgos, where he took the overall classification.
Gall was looking for a team that would guarantee him the role of sole captain at major events, a role that had become more complicated at Decathlon, given Seixas 's meteoric rise. For Lidl-Trek, however, it was a strategic move: both to make a qualitative leap in the overall rankings and for sponsorship reasons in German-speaking markets.
