Federica Venturelli wins Italy's first medal at the World Championships in Rwanda.

In the time trial reserved for the U23 women's category, Britain's Zoe Backstedt took the lead, winning clearly with a 1'50" lead over Slovakian Chadlonova and 2'11" over Venturelli.

The 2005 class rider riding for UAE Team Development made a decisive comeback against the Australian Wilson-Haffendem, who collapsed in the final and was beaten by ten seconds.
