Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) wins the third stage of the Volta a Catalunya, from Viladecans The Style Outlets to La Molina (218.6km).

In the early stages of the race, a four-man breakaway formed consisting of Germani, Wenzel, Molenaar and Armirail , with the latter attacking alone on the long climb of the Coll de la Creueta.

The Frenchman is caught on the final climb of La Molina, by the group pulled by UAE Team Emirates. Among the best, only Kuss , Fortunato and Soler try to start, but are caught one kilometre from the finish.

The stage is decided in a narrow uphill sprint, with Ayuso and Roglic being the brightest and the photo finish rewards the Spaniard. Third place for Landa .

Ayuso also takes the lead in the general classification.
