Slovenian wins last stage alone and takes overall standings
Primoz Roglic (Red Bull- Bora Hansgrohe) wins the final stage of the Volta Catalunya, starting and finishing in Barcelona, 88 km long.
This stage is also shortened for organizational reasons in the Catalan city.
In the first two intermediate sprints, Roglic and Ayuso both gained 4" time bonus and their gap in the general classification remained unchanged .
Red Bull Bora tries to ride hard as Roglic has to make up a second on Ayuso . The Slovenian attacks in person on the fourth climb of Montjuic and manages to go alone.
From behind they try to chase Landa, Mas, Van Eetvelt and Laurance, while Ayuso is having a bad day and is unable to react.
On the last lap Roglic flies towards the double triumph and wins the stage and the general classification. On the last climb De Plus and Van Eetvelt gain an advantage over the chasing group and place themselves on the stage podium.
