Thomas Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) won the fourth stage of the Volta Algarve, from Albufeira to Alto do Malhao of 177.9km. On the difficult uphill finish of the Portuguese race, the British rider preceded Joao Almeida (Uae Emirates) and Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal Quick Step).

Well done Filippo Ganna , just tenth at the finish line just 20 seconds behind the winner and number one favorite tomorrow for the awaited final time trial of 25 km which will decide the final podium.

Today Pidcock wears the leader's jersey of the general classification but the gaps are still minimal. So everything is possible.
