Rui Costa won the fifth and final stage of the Volta Valenciana, from Paterna to Valencia by 93km. Short fraction with two climbs in the middle of the course capable of outlining the general classification. In the end, the attack by the Portuguese near the finish was decisive together with Thymen Arensman , who was then beaten in the two-man sprint.

This is the second success of the season for the 36-year-old Intermarché rider.

Giulio Ciccone , fifth at the finish line at 21 seconds, lost the leader's jersey a few meters from the final triumph.
