The first stage of the women's Vuelta a Burgos, another short stage race in Iberian land, goes from Quintanaortuño to Medina de Pomar for a total of 115.6km. In the first part of the race he fails to form a breakaway; 10 km from the finish, a trio, made up of Biannic, Demey and Elena Pirrone, attacks, trying to anticipate the bunch sprint. The attackers' brief adventure ends a few kilometers later, as soon as the sprinters' teams organize themselves and start making great speeds. The victory is decided with a sprint of a compact group, with Lorena Wiebes winning the race who comes back and beats Balsamo and Dygert.
