Vuelta Femenina: Vollering solo in stage 5

Demi Vollering wins the fifth stage of the Vuelta Femenina, from Golmayo to Lagunas de Neila (120.4km).

On the Alto de Rozavientos, as expected, the red jersey Gerritse comes off.

As soon as the final climb of Lagunas de Neila began, Meijering set off and quickly gained an advantage over the leading group, and shortly afterwards Bredewold set off in pursuit.

With 6 km to go, FDJ starts to work, catches up with Bredewold and closes the gap on Mejering who is reabsorbed at -3.5 km.

A little later Vollering attacks in person and creates a gap. The Dutchman wins alone, while behind him the opponents arrive one by one. Reusser and Van der Breggen climb onto the podium of the day.
