Il belga, vincitore dell’ultima Freccia Vallone, conferma l’ottimo momento di forma e beffa, all’ultimo soffio, Rohan Dennis. L’australiano del Team Jumbo Visma tenta l’azione a sorpresa nel finale e sembra aver fatto il vuoto, ma si pianta negli ultimi metri, e Teuns è bravo a resistere e poi superarlo proprio sulla linea del traguardo. Terzo posto per Marc Hirschi, che precede un buon Aleksandr Vlasov e il sempre più sorprendente Quinten Hermans. 

Rohan Dennis si consola con la nuova leadership in classifica generale con 16” di vantaggio su Felix Grosschartner e Geraint Thomas.
