Ayuso tries on the final climb, but the Mexican comes back and drops him
Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates) wins stage seven of the Tour Auvergne Rhone Alpes, from La Bridoire to Grand Colombier (133.6 km).
The first news of the day was Seixas' crash in the early stages, with the Frenchman getting up in pain but managing to restart more than 3' from the group led by UAE and Visma.
After a long chase, Seixas managed to get back thanks to great work by Decathlon.
A five-man breakaway made its way to the front, comprising De Plus, Carlos Rodriguez, Berthet, Bennet and Valentin Paret-Peintre, but was caught before the final climb.
Lidl-Trek immediately set a strong pace and caused problems for Tuckwell and Seixas, while Ayuso attacked and opened up a gap. Behind the Spaniard, Jorgenson , Johannessen , Uijtdebroeks , and Del Toro tried to chase, with the Mexican accelerating 4 km from the top.
At 1.7 km, Del Toro catches Ayuso and immediately breaks away from his opponent with a great sprint. The UAE rider pulls away and wins solo. Second place goes to Ayuso , with Johannessen third. Seixas is 1'21" behind, while Tuckwell defends the yellow jersey, finishing 2'33" behind.
