During the sprint of the third stage of the AlUla Tour ( won by Tim Merlier ), Nils Eekhoff was the protagonist of a very bad fall that saw him collide, at high speed, with a street lamp. Unlike many obstacles in the last kilometers, this lamp had no protection and the impact was tremendous.

Fortunately, the Team PicNic rider does not appear to have suffered serious consequences, but his adventure in Arabia has come to an end and further communications on his conditions will be provided by the team in the next few hours.

From a safety perspective, this is not the first unpleasant episode that has occurred in the Saudi race: yesterday, in fact, part of the stage was neutralized due to the terrible conditions of the road surface that put the safety of the runners at risk.
