First race of the season for Tadej Pogacar who returned to dominance by easily winning the Strade Bianche . The increase in mileage (215 km) does not scare the champion of UAE Team Emirates who attacks alone with 80 km to go, without anyone being able to respond.

From behind, Van Gils and Skuijns managed to break away from a group of around twenty riders, with the Latvian taking second place by force, almost 3' minutes behind Pogacar.

Pidcock also attacks alone to take a good fourth place ahead of Mohoric .

Good performance for the Italians Formolo 7th and Zana 9th.
