If you see what happened in the early days…” This is the comment of Yvan Vanmol, doctor of Soudal Quick Step, after Evenepoel 's positivity and the consequent abandonment of the Giro d'Italia.

Vanmol, without beating about the bush, blames the organization of the race: “ A press conference in a small room, full of people: it's not possible . - Vanmol said to Sporza - Yes, this makes me angry. There were already requests to the organization, for example, to hold press conferences via video call, but apparently it was impossible - continued the Belgian team doctor - I'm not saying that the infections from Remco and Ganna could have been avoided, but the possibilities could be reduced . These problems will also be present at the Tour and at the Vuelta in the future. There must be clear protocols. Not that they have to be as rigid as they were a few years ago , but people have to sit around the table, even with the team doctors."
