Decathlon CMA CGM launches a women's team for 2027

Women's cycling is enriched by a new team: Decathlon CMA CGM has officially confirmed the creation of a women's team for the 2027 season. The new team will join the existing men's WorldTour team, as well as the youth and Under-23 teams of the NewGen program.

For now, the names of the riders are top secret—no riders have been announced—but the structure of the project is already well defined. The team will debut in the ProTeam category, one step below the women's WorldTour, the same level as teams like St. Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 and Cofidis. This means that Decathlon CMA CGM should gain access to the major races on the calendar, including the prestigious Tour de France Femmes . The stated goal is to advance to the WorldTour in the coming years.

Structurally, the women's team will share resources with the men's team: the same performance center and the same technical sponsors, including the Van Rysel cycling and clothing brand. The operational headquarters will be in La Motte-Servolex , in the French Alps near Grenoble, in the heart of a region traditionally devoted to cycling.

Leading the project will be Guillaume Bonnafond , head of the NewGen program. "Our goal is to bridge the gap between the youth categories and the WorldTour, the highest level of global competition," said Bonnafond. "Our philosophy is based on developing and identifying talent: we want to offer promising young riders from road, cyclocross, and mountain biking a supportive environment for their growth. The goal is to build a sustainable team that will join the WorldTour circuit in the coming years."

In its first season, the women's team will have 12 athletes and a dedicated and comprehensive staff: a sports director, a coach, two athletic assistants, two mechanics, a doctor, a therapist, a nutritionist, and psychophysical support. This professional team demonstrates the seriousness of the investment.
