But beware of good teammates

Just over a week before the Tour of Flanders, the eagerly awaited E3 Saxo Classic will take place on Friday 24 March over a 204 km route. Before arriving in Harelbeke, the riders will have to tackle 17 walls including Paterberg and Oude Kwaremont, up to the last difficulty of the day, the Tiegemberg, about twenty kilometers from the finish.

The race that opens the Inferno del Nord Trophy in the Fantacycling championship (special trophy for the best team by sum of points in the 5 cobblestone races, namely E3, Ghent-Wevelgem, Dwars door Vlaanderen, Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix) is category 4: there is expectation for a new clash between Tadej Pogacar, Wout Van Aert and Mathieu Van der Poel , all present at the start to prepare for the next Monument on April 2nd and, obviously, the most chosen by the fantasy managers. Will they be the ones to fight for the final victory or will an outsider win?

Let's try to indicate other names that, for various reasons, could compete for a good placement if not more: this is the case of Julian Alaphilippe, Biniam Girmay, Matej Mohoric, Benoit Cosnefroy, Stefan Kung, Valentin Madouas, Mads Pedersen and Jasper Stuyven .

Filippo Ganna also deserves attention, who will have to compete on a track that is not easy due to its characteristics. But with the condition shown at San Remo, the two-time time trial world champion could be up front at the decisive moment. Ineos will also have Ben Turner as a second striker returning after the injury a few weeks ago.

Speaking of big names, the presence of very interesting teammates alongside them will be decisive. This is the case of Jumbo Visma , which will also line up Christophe Laporte, Tiesj Benoot, Dylan Van Baarle and Nathan Van Hooydonck, Alpecin Deceuninck with Soren Kragh Andersen and Quinten Hermans, and Uae Emirates with Tim Wellens. A lot of absolute value from which, we are sure, placements (and points) worthy of a Northern classic will emerge.
