Let's find out the champions in the app
With the arrival of women's fantasy cycling, in league mode, the time has come to get to know some of the strongest female athletes on the world cycling scene in detail. After the Italian girls, we continue to tell you about five other champions who can be part of your future training.
Annemiek Van Vleuten – She is said to be bionic. For us it is the essence of women's cycling, strong on all terrains, capable of feats worthy of the greatest in history. To date, there are 98 victories in his career, with the peak of 2022 in which he conquered the Giro, Tour, Vuelta and World Championship (without forgetting Liege). He'll hang up his bike at the end of the season, at 41, but that doesn't mean he'll have less motivation in 2023. To stay on top you need to have it in pink, "whatever the cost".
Lorena Wiebes – The reigning European champion, Dutch born in 1999, drives her opponents crazy thanks to a fast starting point of rare power that allowed her to win 23 races in 2022 including two stages in the Giro and two in the Tour. A defect? It lacks something in the most prestigious classics of the North, yet it scores points throughout the season. Understood fantasy manager?
Lotte Kopecky – Belgian, born in 1995, is a specialist in one-day races and in the North where she has already won Flanders in 2022 and finished second, a few weeks later, in Roubaix behind Elisa Longo Borghini. Talented and successful on the track, she has achieved twenty career successes on the road. Considered one of the strongest on walls and stones, it is essential to buy it and deploy it in the races that count.
Demi Vollering – A lot of praise is said about the Dutch athlete, born in 1996, strong uphill and on demanding climbs, especially in short stage races. At the 2022 Tour she won the best climber's jersey (and second overall) while a few months earlier she did three out of three in Itzulia, then conquering the Iberian race. We're talking about an athlete capable of winning the Freccia del Brabant, in Belgium, and reaching the podium in the Freccia-Vallone, Liège and Amstel. So fantamanager, you already know what you have to do.
Liane Lippert – Young German, born in 1998, she has won very little in her career (5 successes, including the home title last year) but she is a very important athlete for Movistar and captain Van Vleuten. In 2022 he showed good things in the short stage races and in some classics where he collected several placements. Among the best in the Uci ranking, she could give you surprise points during the season.
