Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) wins the final stage of the Giro d'Italia, 131 km from Rome to Rome.
After the usual celebrations in the first part of the stage, the race heats up from the midway point, with numerous attacks. Soudal Quick Step tries to keep the attacks at bay to avoid dangerous situations like those in Milan.
At 15 km -1, Ganna tries, with Sobrero and Stuyven managing to follow him to protect their sprinters.
The NetCompany rider was not changed and the group, mainly led by Unibet, managed to close the gap.
The race then came to a sprint, with Unibet still in the lead, then Van den Bosche tried to launch Magnier , but Milan came out at double speed and won clearly. Second place went to Lonardi , third to Penhoet.
Magnier only finished 11th, while Vingegaard officially confirmed his place in the pink jersey.
