Pedersen seeks encore, Merlier will be there

Located between Sanremo and Flanders, Ghent-Wevelgem is one of the favourite races among sprinters due to its long but not too demanding route.

There will be 250 kilometers to cover with a long flat section before entering the circuit with several walls and cobblestone sections. The last difficulty will be 34.3 km from the finish, just enough time to let the sprinters return.

Lidl Trek comes with a very strong team and several options. From Mads Pedersen for a slightly tougher race to Jonathan Milan for the sprint without forgetting Jasper Stuyven and Toms Skuijns.

Among the protagonists we obviously mention Jasper Philipsen, Tim Merlier (who will race after the fall at De Panne), Olav Kooij, Biniam Girmay, Arnaud De Lie, Alexander Kristoff and Michael Matthews. We also expect a good result from Matteo Trentin, in the top 10 at Sanremo and among the best at the last E3.

For a more selective race, Tim Wellens and Matteo Jorgenson will be present to lead Uae Emirates and Visma Lease a Bike.
