Christophe Laporte won the 85th edition of the Ghent-Wevelgem 260.9km classic.

The race, held in rain and cold from the start, was decided just over 50 km from the finish when Wout Van Aert and Laporte attacked leaving the rest of the peloton, to then maintain an advantage that reached and exceeded two minutes .

No one was able to follow them: upon arrival Van Aert left the success to the Frenchman. Sep Van Marcke won the sprint for third place.
