Social centers announce protests like those that happened at the Vuelta

"Bologna like Madrid": Social centers have announced their intention to block the Giro dell'Emilia cycling race, scheduled for Saturday, October 4th, with its traditional finish on the steep climbs of Colle di San Luca. As has happened on several recent occasions at the Vuelta a España, the protest is aimed at the presence of the Israel Premier Tech team.

"We ask," the Bologna Social Municipalities, composed of various organizations from the opposing galaxy, wrote in their announcement of the mobilization, "the organizing committee, the Emilia-Romagna Regional Council, and the Municipality of Bologna to take a clear position, eliminating institutional sponsorship and excluding the participation of Israel Premier Tech. If this does not happen, we will block the Israeli team's passage by rejecting their participation, as happened at the Vuelta."

According to international sporting rules, the category to which the Giro dell'Emilia belongs, and the UCI rankings, the Israeli team has the right to be invited to participate in the Giro dell'Emilia, as was the case with the Vuelta. In the Spanish race, some stages were shortened and others neutralized (including the final stage, which ended in Madrid) due to the presence of large numbers of protesters who opposed the team's participation in the race.
