World Champion Detaches Everyone, Evenepoel Retires

Tadej Pogacar won the 107th edition of the Giro dell'Emilia, raced today in the rain over the distance of 215.3 km.

The world champion left all his opponents behind 38 km from the finish line, on the first pass on the climb of San Luca, responding to an attack by Remco Evenepoel who then retired a few kilometres later.

For Pogacar it is yet another success, the 24th, of an extraordinary season. Second, almost two minutes behind, Thomas Pidcock, third an excellent Davide Piganzoli ahead of Michael Woods.
