The Giro d'Italia 2022 has revealed all the cards. After a journey through the stages of the Corsa Rosa, here is the Grand finale with an individual time trial that will end in Verona , inside the Arena . The route of the 105th edition is thus complete with 7 stages for sprinters, 6 for mid-mountain, 6 for high-mountain and 2 individual time trials. 3410, 3 kilometers to go and almost 51,000 meters in altitude. The one from Hungary , Friday 6 May, will be the fourteenth Great Departure from abroad. Verona will host the closing of the Corsa Rosa for the fifth time.

The last stage is a time trial on the Circuito delle Torricelle (of the World Championships) run in an anti-clockwise direction. First part for straight and very wide "avenues". Then climbed around 5% with some "steps" and with a slightly narrower carriageway. After GPM and intermediate timing at the top of the climb followed by 4 km of fast descent. Last 3 km along the city streets with some challenging curves.Arrival in Piazza Bra and in the Arena of Verona .

The Director of the Giro d'Italia, Mauro Vegni , underlined how: "This Giro was conceived to give riders the opportunity to battle from the very first stages looking for a partial victory or chasing the Maglia Rosa. It will be one of the hardest routes of the in recent years with its almost 51,000 meters in altitude. There will be many treacherous fractions already from the return to Italy after three in Hungary. We wanted to include in the route some mountains that have made the cycling history of our race such as Santa Cristina - which will be the Pantani Mountain - the Mortirolo, the Pordoi (Cima Coppi) and the Fedaia Pass at the foot of the Marmolada. These climbs will be included in the two key stages of the Giro, the Salò - Aprica (which will also be the Forzato Wine Stage) and the Belluno - Marmolada (Fedaia Pass). Even the two time trials (that of Budapest and that of Verona between the Veronese Hills) will have an important value: the first because it should assign a new Maglia Rosa which could be dressed for a few days while the second could be the final judge of this Giro and definitively change the General Classification ".
