Race suspended after 60km

The Tre Valli Varesine was interrupted and cancelled : the incessant rain forced the runners to stop after 60 km.

The cuts made this morning, with the elimination of two of the seven laps of the short circuit initially planned, were not enough. Bad weather has been raging since the night in all of Northern Italy and the intensification of the rain showers, right in the early hours of the afternoon, forced the riders and the organization to raise the white flag, 110 km from the finish line.

Fortunately, the weather forecast seems to be improving for the weekend, when the Gran Piemonte will take place (Thursday 10 October) and, above all, the Giro di Lombardia on Saturday 12, between the provinces of Bergamo, Lecco and Como.
