He fell at Dwars and suffered several fractures

Unfortunately there is bad news for Wout Van Aert after his fall during today's Dwars door Vlaanderen.

The Belgian from the Visma - Lease a Bike team suffered a fractured collarbone and several broken ribs after falling to the ground, along with other riders, 67 km from the finish line.

Confirmation came from his team who officially announced Van Aert's absence from the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and the Amstel Gold Race.

His presence for the Giro d'Italia which starts on May 4th is also at risk.

Problems also for Jasper Stuyven , who broke his collarbone in the same accident. Biniam Girmay and Mads Pedersen , despite the terrible fall, appear to have had no serious consequences.
