The Belgian confirms himself as one of the fittest sprinters of 2024
Tim Merlier wins the 188.1km Nokere Koerse from Deinze to Nokere. The Belgian from Soudal Quick Step clearly precedes Fabio Jakobsen and Jasper Philipsen and achieves his third success in a row in the race.
Tim Wellens , one of the fittest, tries to attack on the last cobbled stretch with 4 km to go, but is caught by the group 1.7 km from the finish line.
Then a fall in the last kilometer breaks up the leading group and Tim Merlier, with a formidable sprint, gives his opponents no chance. The Belgian sets off immediately and overtakes his opponents who never manage to keep up with his wheel. Sixth victory of the season for Merlier which also coincides with success number twelve in 2024 for Soudal Quick Step.
