Matteo Jorgenson wins the French race

Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick Step) won the eighth and final stage of the Paris-Nice, with a 109.3km start and finish in Nice. Matteo Jorgenson (Visma - Lease a Bike) won the general classification.

It was a battle from the first kilometers with various escape attempts: on the Cote de Peille it was Remco Evenepoel who attacked several times and with him only Matteo Jorgenson and Aleksandr Vlasov remained while the general leader, Brandon McNulty , Mattias Skjelmose and Primoz Roglic I'm not able to keep up with the Belgian's pace.

Vlasov breaks away on the last climb of the day, the Col del Quatre Chemins, leaving two to compete for the stage victory with Evenepoel who crosses the finish line first without having to sprint on Jorgenson. Vlasov finishes third at almost a minute, McNulty manages to maintain the final podium. The disappointment is Roglic, who only finishes ninth.
