Great challenge between sprinters
The European Championship will take place on the streets of Belgium on Sunday 15 September.
The 220km route will start in the town of Heusden-Zolder and finish in Hasselt.
A race that, in its short history, has almost always ended with a bunch sprint . The route has a rolling central section with six short climbs and eight cobblestone sectors; however, the difficulties end beyond 25 kilometers from the finish line and it will be difficult for an early attempt to succeed.
The favourites are consequently all sprinters: the challenge on the eve seems to be between Milan and Philipsen , both supported by a valid team.
Other contenders for victory will be Kooij , who will be able to count on the lead-out of Van der Poel, and Pedersen for Denmark.
Other sprinters capable of fighting for a good placing include: Andresen, Merlier, Kristoff, Laporte, Bittner, Aniolkowski, Meeus, Mikhels and Miquel.
Finally, there are few riders who could try to anticipate the sprint, among these we point out Politt, Abrahamsen, Rex and Kung.
