The Slovenian champion confirmed his presence
The news that all cycling fans have been waiting for has finally arrived: Tadej Pogačar will ride the 2025 Paris-Roubaix, thus preparing for a new epic showdown with Mathieu van der Poel and Filippo Ganna after the recent battle at Milan-San Remo.
UAE Team Emirates-XRG has announced that the Slovenian champion will change his calendar, skipping the E3 Saxo Classic and Gent-Wevelgem to focus on preparing for the Tour of Flanders and Roubaix, two Monuments that represent his new goals for the spring.
Rumours about Pogačar's possible participation in the Queen of the Classics had intensified after his surprise reconnaissance in the Arenberg Forest and other cobbled sectors in early February. Now the official confirmation has arrived, despite concerns from team manager Mauro Gianetti and the UAE staff about the risks of a crash that could compromise his preparation for the Tour de France, a big goal of the season.
For Pogačar, who has already won Il Lombardia, the Tour of Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Roubaix represents one of the last great Monuments still missing from his palmares, along with Milan-San Remo. His participation adds further allure to one of the most iconic races on the calendar, promising spectacle and great duels on the cobblestones of northern France.
The program first includes the Tour of Flanders on April 6 and then the highly anticipated debut at Paris-Roubaix the following Sunday. For fantasy cycling fans, Pogačar's presence represents an important variable to consider in game strategies, given his ability to be a protagonist on any terrain.
