The Stelvio will be the Cima Coppi, arrival in Rome confirmed

The 2024 Giro d'Italia was officially presented in Trento, starting from Piedmont and arriving in Rome. 3316 km in total and 42,850 meters of altitude difference spread over 21 stages.

After the already announced start in Piedmont, the pink caravan will move to the south passing through Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Campania and Basilicata, before returning northwards touching Molise, Abruzzo, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Trentino, Friuli and Veneto.

Two individual time trials planned: the Foligno-Perugia of the 7th stage of 37.2km and the 14th stage from Castiglione delle Stiviere to Desenzano del Garda of 25.8km; This promises to be a very suitable Giro for runners who are strong against the clock.

7 stages for sprinters and 8 mountain stages have been indicated with 6 uphill finishes. The Coppi peak will be the Stelvio Pass with its 2758 meters at the opening of the 16th stage from Livigno to Santa Cristina.

The third week promises to be very tough with two other stages that will undoubtedly be decisive: the 17th from Selva di Val Gardena to the Brocon Pass and the 20th from Alpago to Bassano del Grappa with the double ascent of Monte Grappa.

Now all we have to do is wait for the news regarding the participation of the runners, hoping that our race will be honored perhaps by the presence of a certain Tadej Pogacar.
