The 2026 Vuelta route has been unveiled.

Lots of climbing, two time trials and the finish in Granada

The 2026 edition of the Vuelta a España was presented in Monte Carlo. As announced, the race will start in the Principality of Monaco on August 22nd with an individual time trial on the Formula 1 circuit. The first stages will immediately climb, crossing into Andorra La Vella after France, before the peloton will descend southward to the finish in Granada on September 13th. The route will include a 32.5km time trial, six pure mountain stages, several medium-mountain stages, and four to five sprint opportunities. One of the new features will be the introduction of gravel, which will be present on the sixth stage, obviously uphill for about 3km, as well as the finish of the twentieth stage on the tough climb of Collado del Alguacil . For the second time in its history, the race will cross the eight provinces of Andalusia. The total distance will be 3,275 kilometers with 58,000 meters of elevation gain.

Stage 2 (23/08): Montecarlo – Manosque (215.2 km)

Stage 3 (24/08): Gruisan – Font Romeu (166.7 km)

Stage 4 (25/08): Andorra la Vella – Andorra la Vella (104.9 km)

Stage 5 (26/08): Falset – Roquetes (171.1 km)

Stage 6 (27/08): Alcossebre – Castellón (176.8 km)

Stage 7 (28/08): Vall d'Alba – Valdelinares (149.9 km)

Stage 8 (29/08): Puçol – Xeraco (176.4 km)

Stage 9 (30/08): La Vila Joiosa – Alto de Aitana (187.5 km)

Rest day

Stage 10 (01/09): Alcaraz – Elche de la Sierra (184.5 km)

Stage 11 (02/09): Cartagena – Lorca (156.1 km)

Stage 12 (03/09): Vera – Calar Alto (166.5 km)
