Challenging the world champion will be Evenepoel with his double Olympic gold ; then Van der Poel with his northern week in which he conquered Flanders and Roubaix in just seven days.

Other notable achievements include Philipsen 's Milan-San Remo win and Roglic 's comeback in Spain, which earned him his fourth victory at the Vuelta .

We conclude, finally, with the surprising and historic conquest of the green jersey by Biniam Girmay at the Tour de France.
