Caleb Ewan (Ineos Grenadiers) wins the second stage of the Itzulia Basque Country, from Pamplona-Iruna to Lodosa (186.6 km).

A breakaway of 5 riders puts the group in a state of apprehension: Isasa, Uriarte, Arriola, Bayer and Fernandez try to attack and Isasa, the last to give up, is caught inside the last 2 km.

On the 5km-to-go sprint he tried to overtake Schmid , but was unable to make the difference.

The finale lends itself to a bunch sprint with the Ineos Grenadiers managing the final kilometres very well; Heiduk launches Ewan perfectly who wins clearly ahead of Van Boven and Tronchon .

Schachmann remains leader in the overall standings.
