The Canadian wins in the sprint, beating her fellow breakaways with 130 km to go

Third edition of the Paris-Roubaix women , mileage increased compared to the 2022 race with 145.4km and 18 cobbled sectors to tackle . The race comes alive already in the first 15 kilometers with a large escape of 18 athletes composed by: Marta Lach (CERATZIT-WTZ), Josie Talbot (Cofidis), Lisa Van Helvoirt (Parkhotel Valkenburg), Julia Borgstrom (AG Insurance), Alison Jackson (EF Education-Tibco), Marie Morgane Le Deunff (Arkea Pro Cycling), Susanne Andersen (Uno-X), Amber Pate (Jayco-AlUla), Jesse Vandenbulcke (Human Powered Health), Marion Borras (St Michel-Malvic), Marthe Truyen (Felix-Deceuninck), Lisa Klein (Trek.Segafredo), Alice Towers (Canyon/SRAM), Eugenie Duval (FDJ Suez), Daniek Hengeveld (Team DSM) and the Italians Katia Ragusa (Liv Racing) and Laura Tomasi ( UAE Team ADQ) who acquires a maximum lead of 6'.

Hengeveld tries to take advantage of the first cobbled stretches, but is caught up in a few kilometres, while in the Vos group she is the victim of an unfortunate puncture which forces her into a long run-up. To break the hesitation in the group of the best is   Lotte Kopecky   who launches an attack just before Mons-en-Pévèle and forms a small group of about twenty cyclists including   agree   and the reigning champion   Longo Borghini . Just the latter slips in the Pont-Thibault stretch and triggers a fall that sends the entire chasing group to the ground with the exception of Kasper, greatly complicating the run-up.

Arrived at the Carrefour de l'Arbre, the counter-attackers still pay 1' out of the seven athletes remaining in the lead who resist with a dozen seconds advantage even after the penultimate stretch of pavé in Willems à Hem thanks to an extraordinary work of   Jackson.

The seven enter the velodrome with the same gap and if they play it in the sprint, it is Alison Jackson who wins, anticipating a very good Katia Ragusa and the Belgian Truyen.
