Alpecin dominance with VDP, Philipsen and Vermeersch; another Laporte collapse

Mathieu Van der Poel won the second consecutive Paris-Roubaix and managed to do a repeat with Flanders won last week. The Dutchman undoubtedly deserves the +3, as does his teammate Philipsen who finished second in the velodrome ahead of Pedersen (+2) and Politt (+3), the latter a true revelation of the northern campaign , in which he saw the its value triple, going from 5 to 15!

Gianni Vermeersch ran in an extraordinary way, first working for his captains and then even managing to place 6th place: +3 plus for him.

Excellent performances also by the duo FDJ Kung and Pithie who deserve +2 and by Meeus, Waerenskjold and Mikhels, placed in the top ten (+1).

Laporte disappoints again as, after breaking away on Capo Berta at Sanremo, he loses contact with the leading group from the first cobbled sections, also due to a puncture. The French take the second -3 in a row.

A placing in the top 20 was expected from the following riders: Merlier, Van Baarle, Bettiol, Milan, Asgreen, Cortina, Bjerg and Lampaert; their haul of fantasy points stops at zero, their value consequently drops by a fantasy million.
