Demi Vollering won stage seven of the women's Tour de France, from Lannemezan to the 89.8km Col du Tourmalet. The Dutchman is the new yellow jersey. Loser of the day is Annemiek Van Vleuten .

The queen stage of the race, which in addition to the arrival on one of the climbs that made the history of cycling also included the ascent of Col d'Aspin, saw the triumph of the athlete of Team SD Worx, protagonist of the decisive sprint more than 5 km from the finish line. Second Katarzyna Niewiadoma at 1'58" , third Van Vleuten at 2'34".

On the day in which Elisa Longo Borghini and Elisa Balsamo did not start, the great performance of the yellow jersey Lotte Kopecky made headlines, staying with the best for most of the Tourmalet: the Belgian finished sixth at 3'32". Eighth was Marta Cavalli at over 5'.

In the general standings Vollering has 1'50" on Niewiadoma, 2'28" on Van Vleuten and 2'35" on Kopecky.
