Fourth stage of the women's Tour de France: 177.1 km from Cahors to Rodez with a very rough finish with 3 gpm in succession and an uphill finish.

In the first part of the race, a large breakaway is formed with 15 athletes who gain even more than 10' on the main group. On the Cote de Moyrazes, the penultimate climb of the day, Kastelijn attacks in front and remains alone in the lead, while behind, about 3' away, it is Lotte Kopecky who tries, firsthand, to defend her yellow jersey by launching into a solitary chase.

On the Cote de Lavernhe, Kasteljin manages to maintain the advantage, while further back the challenge finally begins between Vollering and Van Vleuten who try to break away from each other with different stretches.

Yara Kastelijn continues to push and takes the first success of her career at the finish line in Rodez; on the final stretch Vollering attacks again and takes second place ahead of Koster . Van Vleuten finished fourth, Longo Borghini fifth. Kopecky manages to limit the damage and maintains the leadership of the general classification.
