Fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps with departure set in Rovereto and arrival in Predazzo for a total of 152.9km, in the final the long Pramadiccio Pass with a brow 15 kilometers from the finish.

At the start of the race, on Passo Sommo, 14 try to take advantage: Simon Carr, Stefan De Bod (EF Education-EasyPost), Gregor Mühlberger, Antonio Pedrero, Oscar Rodriguez, Sergio Samitier (Movistar), Patrick Konrad (Bora-hansgrohe), Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R Citroën), Marco Frigo (Israel PremierTech), Giulio Pellizzari, Henok Mulubrhan (Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè), Torstein Traæn (Uno-X), Damien Howson and Mark Donovan (Q36.5) and arrive at the start of the last climb with almost 4' on the main group. Muhlberger , Traæn and Pellizzari try immediately, the latter at -20km attacks and remains in command alone. The class of 2003 reaches the top of the climb with a 20” lead over his closest pursuers, while in the group of men in the classification nobody tries to take advantage. On the following descent, Traæn and Muhlberger quickly returned, much more able to tackle the curves. The three make regular changes in the last flat stretch and go to play for victory in the sprint: Muhlberger makes his experience count and regulates the two younger riders to the sprint. In Geoghegan Hart's group no one tries to gain seconds and the fight for the general classification is postponed to tomorrow's last stage.
