Mathieu Van der Poel won the Cyclocross World Championship held today in Tabor, Czech Republic.
The 2023 road world champion dominated the race by running alone from the start and arriving at the finish line with a lead of 37 seconds over his compatriot Joris Nieuwenhuis , silver medalist, and the Belgian Michael Vanthourenhout , bronze medalist, at 1'06".
For Van der Poel it is the sixth cyclocross world title in his career.
Wout Van Aert and Thomas Pidcock, among the main protagonists of the discipline, did not take part in the World Championship.
