Primoz Roglic (Red Bull Bora) wins the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Catalunya, from Sant Vicenç de Castellet to Montserrat Mil·lenari (188.7km).
In the first part of the race, a breakaway of 12 men formed, to whom the group granted a stable advantage of around 3'30". On the Tùro de Puig, a 2nd category climb, Staune-Mittet and Steinhauser broke away and quickly moved to within 1' of the closest pursuers.
Steinhauser tries to attack as soon as the final climb begins, but the group led by UAE Team Emirates comes back at great speed and catches up with him.
Adam Yates works for Ayuso who sprints 3 km from the finish line; Roglic pays on the acceleration but catches up a few hundred meters later. The two take a few seconds advantage on a group of 5 riders and play for the victory in the sprint with Roglic who takes revenge and triumphs ahead of the Spaniard.
Primoz Roglic takes the lead in the general classification on a par with Ayuso, but ahead thanks to better placings.
