Departing Great Britain on July 2nd

From Friday to Sunday (July 2–4), the Grand Départ of the 2027 Tour de France will visit Scotland, England, and Wales in just three stages. From the first day of racing, the route will fully showcase this historic start: the 28th outside France, but the first to involve three nations. The peloton will set off from Edinburgh, the Scottish capital, and cross the border to compete for the Yellow Jersey in Carlisle. The second stage will take place entirely on English roads, between Keswick and Liverpool, while the third will explore Wales from Welshpool to Cardiff.

The festivities will begin with the team presentations on Wednesday, June 30, at Edinburgh Castle. With over 600 kilometers of racing between the hometown of Chris Hoy, a Scottish cycling icon, and that of Geraint Thomas, the only Welsh winner of the Tour, the journey across Great Britain promises to be a spectacle. It will also be intense, before further celebrations at the end of July for the Grand Départ of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
