At least a month's break is looming for the Scotsman

Bad injury for Oscar Onley during the Cadel Evans Great Road Ocean Race on Sunday: about 100 km from the finish line, in an apparently risk-free stretch, a carelessness cost the Team DSM rider dearly as he fell and broke his collarbone on impact with the asphalt.

For the class of 2002, it is already the third similar injury that has happened to him during his short career; the last one, in chronological order, was the one caused by the accident during the second stage of the Vuelta on August 27th.

In cases like these, recovery times in cycling are never very long. Onley himself returned to racing less than a month after his injury in August, the following September 26th in the CRO Race.

Most likely he will miss the short stage races between the end of February and the beginning of March, the hope will be to see him again at the Tour of Catalonia or at the Itzulia Basque Country.
