Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) wins the Tour of Flanders, the second 269km monument of the season.

In the early stages of the race, a breakaway of eight riders formed: Reinders, Romele, Swift, Flynn, Roosen, Townsend, Haller and Vercouillie.

At -125 km Van der Poel was involved in a crash, fortunately without any particular consequences.

The first to set off among the best was Kung , just after the Molenberg summit, together with Braet , Benoot and Ballerini; shortly after they were joined by another quartet with Ganna and Trentin. A few kilometres later, the counterattackers resumed the initial escape.

On the second pass on the Oude Kwaremont Pogacar attacks and is followed by Jorgenson, Van Aert, Pedersen and Van der Poel . On the Paterberg Van der Poel attacks, but fails to make the difference.

On the Koppenberg this group catches up with the breakaway and on the Taaienberg Pogacar , Van der Poel and Pedersen remain alone in the lead. On the Oude Kruisberg Pedersen breaks away from the leading pair and is caught by Van Aert and Stuyven, but the three manage to get back.

On the final pass on the Oude Kwaremont , after yet another attack , Pogacar distances all his rivals and remains alone in front.

The world champion increases his lead and triumphs ahead of Pedersen and Van der Poel. Van Aert 4th.
