Bettiol and Christen caught 2 km from the finish line

Matthew Brennan wins the fifth stage of the Tour of Poland, from Katowice to Zakopane (206.1 km).

The four-man breakaway, made up of Artz, Gamper Plowright and Svrcek, didn't particularly scare the group, which absorbed the attackers with 12 km to go.

On the slightly uphill section around -10 km, several men try to move, including Riccitello, Christen and Frigo.

On the descent, Bettiol attacked, followed again by a rampaging Christen . The two gained a handful of seconds, but the group caught them with 2 km to go.

Lidl-Trek tried to organize Bagioli 's sprint, but Brennan doubled his pace and triumphed over Turner . Third place went to Bagioli, with Raccagni Noviero fourth. Tiberi, Bettiol, and Milesi also finished in the top ten.

The big names all arrive together in Lapeira's yellow jersey group (with the exception of Sheffield who loses more than 2') and little changes in terms of the general classification.
