There will be seven occasions for the sprinters. Tomorrow will be the turn of the mid-mountain stages
After the presentation of the first three stages that will take place in Hungary , RCS has unveiled the seven stages of the Giro d'Italia 2022 suitable for sprinters, confirming that two will run right on the Hungarian territory: the first, from Budapest to Visegrad of 195 km with light finish 5 km uphill at 5% which will assign the first pink jersey, and the third, from Kaposvar to Balatonfured of 201 km totally flat.
The sprinters will once again be protagonists in Italy with the Catania - Messina stage of 172 km which includes the long ascent of Portella Mandrazzi after 75 km at the halfway point. Following the Palmi - Scalea , in Calabria, of 192 km without particular pitfalls along the route except the short ups and downs of the Tyrrhenian coast. Flat stage like a billiard table, which will probably take place in the second week of the competition, from Santarcangelo di Romagna to Reggio Emilia of 201 km.
Fraction considered for sprinters is the Sanremo-Cuneo of 157 km which however provides for 1,450 meters of altitude and, in the initial part, the climb towards Colle di Nava. Last compact group sprint of the 2022 Giro is scheduled in Borgo Valsugana-Treviso , almost certainly in the last week of racing, of 146 km.
