A week of screams for cycling enthusiasts is about to begin. It starts on Sunday with the Tour of Flanders, a classic monument that promises to be a spectacle thanks to a start list of absolute value.

But let's start with the route: starting from Bruges, first difficulties after about 100 km, then the runners will face the historic walls of the race: the Old Quaremont, then the explosive finale with the Koppenberg, the Steenbeekdries, the Taaienberg and the Kruisberg. The last passage (three are planned) still on the Old Quaremont and finally the Paterberg before the last 13 kilometers of flat towards the finish line in Oudenaarde. In total 268.9 km with 17 walls and 7 sectors of cobblestones. Who will celebrate at the finish line?

Obviously everyone is expecting a no-holds-barred clash between Tadej Pogacar , winner of the 2023 Tour of Flanders, and Mathieu Van der Poel , who is looking for his fourth victory at the Ronde Van Vlaanderen.

The Slovenian, who will be at the start of the Roubaix for the first time next Sunday, is looking for sporting revenge against the Dutchman, who beat him in Sanremo. From the point of view of the teams, Uae Emirates is decidedly superior to Alpecin Deceuninck: will they be decisive during the race?

Will anyone be able to fit in? Mads Pedersen arrives at the Ronde in great shape after his success at Gand-Wevelgem and placings at E3 and Dwars. Filippo Ganna will also be there, protagonist of an amazing start to the season with podiums at Tirreno, Sanremo and E3. For him it will be a good test to understand if he can digest the tough Flemish walls.

Visma Lease a Bike deserves a chapter of its own. After the embarrassment of Dwars, Wout Van Aert will try to have his say together with Matteo Jorgenson. The role of favorites, however, belongs to others.

Speaking of others, let's mention some interesting names for a prestigious placement: Neilson Powless, king of Dwars, Stefan Kung, Michael Matthews, Magnus Sheffield and Lennert Van Eetvelt. But be careful, a top 10 full of surprises. How can we forget the 2024 podium of Luca Mozzato.

We close with the bookmakers' opinion: Pogacar is the number one favorite for the victory, quoted at around 1.75, followed closely by Van der Poel at 2.75. Pedersen is far behind at 11, Van Aert at 15 and Jorgenson at 34. Good odds for Filippo Ganna at 41.
