Visma Lease a Bike had a rude awakening this morning, before the third stage of the Vuelta. During the night, thieves broke into the mechanics' van and stole eighteen Cervelo bicycles . The Dutch team was staying at the Novotel on Corso Giulio Cesare in San Maurizio Canavese.

Three of these eighteen bikes were later found in a field near the hotel, likely abandoned by the thieves during their escape.

Team Visma declared all this this morning on their social channels and the damage is quantifiable at around 250 thousand euros .

It was also reported on social media that the team's mechanics are working hard to ensure the team is ready to depart for the third stage. The Carabinieri have launched an investigation into the accident.
