It's Tadej Pogacar mania. The historic Giro d'Italia-Tour de France double won in the same year, twenty-six years after Marco Pantani , the Slovenian is the man who makes the entire cycling world revolve around him.

It's certainly a shame not to see Tadej at the Paris Olympics , but it's also normal that, after a season at a thousand miles an hour, it's necessary to recharge the batteries.

Furthermore, the decision of Slovenian coach Gorazd Penko not to call up his girlfriend Urška Žigart certainly did not push Pogacar towards the five-ring event: “It is not the main reason, but it certainly did not help,” said Pogacar. “I think she deserved the place. She is the national champion on the road and time trial. She is the only female cyclist in Slovenia who has ever reached the top-10 in one-week races in the WorldTour. She has done very well in the last two years, winning points for Slovenia and, without her, they would not have two places in the road race. That's how it went, at least now we can go on holiday together.”

A well-deserved vacation, being able to lull yourself between relaxation and the records achieved. Even in the points ranking at Fantacycling , up to this point, Pogacar is first with an abysmal gap.

The Slovenian scored 8435 points , with Remco Evenepoel , second, on 3400 points . On the podium we find the surprising Matteo Jorgenson with 3153 points , while closing the top five are Jasper Philipsen with 2966 points and Mathieu Van der Poel with 2897 points .

The Dutchman will be the protagonist of the next probable duel with Pogacar, who has already launched the challenge to conquer the world champion's jersey.
