Lotto-Intermarché's transfer market continues unabated. After a series of key signings, the Belgian team has made another key acquisition for the 2027 season: Guillaume Martin , a French climber who returns to his former club after several years away.

Martin, born in 1993, began his professional career with Wanty-Groupe Gobert, a team that later merged with Lotto, spending four seasons with them between 2016 and 2019. His move from Groupama-FDJ United, with a one-year contract, therefore represents a true homecoming for the rider, now 33 years old.

With just 11 career victories—and none at World Tour level—Martin has never been a serial winner, and both he and his new team are aware of this. His role will be partly to lead a young team, but he will still have the opportunity to pursue his own personal achievements with the Belgian jersey.

"Since our first time together, he has gained a tremendous amount of experience at the highest level; this experience is extremely valuable to our young team," said team CEO Jean-François Bourlart.

"Guillaume proved once again at the recent Vuelta that he can compete at the highest level. We want to give him the freedom to pursue his own results. This combination makes him a very valuable addition to our team," concluded Bourlart.
